ASSESSMENT

After contact we look to set up an appointment and come to evaluate your indoor air environment. We inspect the outside for moisture intrusion and potential problematic areas then we look at your indoor environment for potential unhealthy contamination. We use several methods of sampling to determine the type and quantity of contamination. Air sampling, swabbing, tape lifts, bulk samples, impaction sampling, many variations give us a microbial profile, both dynamic and historic. By using particle counting, along with temperature, humidity and moisture readings throughout we can determine the quality of air that is being breathed. VOC testing is also a way of determining if there is any volatile organic compounds in your air that may be off gassing and introducing harmful chemicals in the air, including hidden mold.  Checking for bacteria is also helpful in determining air quality. All of these things can trigger unhealthy conditions to those residing in your home or office. After lab results and assessment of information we can then properly guide you into the best solution for the indoor air quality in your environment.

VOC,s "Volatile Organic Compounds"

Whether mold is visible or not, i.e., “hidden mold,” certain chemicals called mold volatile organic compounds (MVOCs) are produced as the mold digests its food.  Prolonged exposure to these VOCs can have serious health effects especially in infants, small children, the elderly and anyone with chemical sensitivities or chronic respiratory conditions like asthma or allergies.  Because mold VOCs are produced as the mold grows, they can be used as an indicator of active mold. Testing in this way can determine if there is hidden mold in your environment.
